Crossing the River Wharfe at Harewood

Crossing the River Wharfe on the A61 this is a narrow bridge where traffic has to slow right down.
It was actually built in 1729 and is still carrying heavy traffic on a important road 284 years later (this journey was made in 2013). A massive tribute to the people who constructed this bridge.
Just after we cross the bridge we leave West Yorkshire and cross into North Yorkshire

The Official Ripon sign (in the daffodils) just after we have passed Morrison's we are now in the Cathedral city of Ripon this has to be one of if not the smallest cities in Great Britain. At this point we have just left the modern A61 which is now the Ripon bypass we are following Harrogate road which is the old road (A61) through Ripon

36 bus Ripon

As we cross Waterskell Gate yet another 36 on its way to Leeds think the bus we are on will now be the next bus back to Leeds.
I have to say the frequency of this route is incredible for such a long distance route any major city would be proud to have this as a city route but Transdev manage run this as a rural and city route over a long distance so the big boys take note
