An unexpected sight in Conisborough. Conisborough Castle. A bit of ancient history along the X78 route. The castle dates back to Norman times. For those wanting to visit the castle the X78 is a perfect way to get there.

Once in Doncaster the town centre is very pleasant and also has plenty of shops, eateries and the Frenchgate shopping centre. Doncaster also has arguably the best market in South Yorkshire.

Doncaster town centre. In this shot we are looking south along what used to be the A1 Great North Road that runs from London to Edinburgh before the Doncaster bypass was built strange to think this is now a pedestrian precinct.
